Bob Lord Perpetual Troph won by Thomas Evans FEATURED Sport by NOTA - November 12, 2014 The Tea Gardens Country Club Fishing Club recently held its annual presentation evening. The night began with the presentation of a local photographic canvas to past President Wally Rhodes and his wife Bev for their many years of dedication to the Fishing Club. This year also saw the introduction of the Bob Lord Perpetual Trophy for the most Tailor caught over the twelve months. Bob Lord was Treasurer and a keen Tailor fisherman over many years, so with his passing it was only fitting this trophy be presented by Bob’s daughter, Jeanette Lord and nephew David. The very proud recipient this year was Thomas Evans. Linda Mowbray from the Tea Gardens Fishing Club said, “We also facilitated a Gibber to Gibber Competition.” “The Tea Gardens Club won the title and trophy back from the Bulahdelah Club after many years,” she said. “It took some hard fishing from many of our members and all agreed it was a great weekend,” said Ms Mowbray. There were many prizes presented during the evening including largest fish and secret fish. Monthly winners, championship winners and the wooden fish award were also presented. The Clubs major winners for 2014 were, Junior Champion William Markham, Ladies Champion Linda Mowbray and Men’s Champion Bill Thrift.
