Coffs Coast triathletes plunge into jam packed new season

Coffs Harbour Triathlon Club are ready to go for the new season.

 

THE Coffs Harbour Triathlon Club are plunging into a jam packed new season with a whole range of new events and distances.

Club President Shaun Lawer said, “We are excited about the opportunities the upcoming season will offer with a jam packed race calendar to suit all levels of triathlete from beginner to elite.

“We are a friendly and inclusive club and look forward to welcoming some new members this season.

“In addition to the regular races consisting of a 750m swim, 20km bike ride and 5km run the club will also be holding shorter distance races consisting of a 350m swim, 10km bike ride and 2.5km run,” said Shaun.

The Triathlon Club has been running for over 36 years and between September and May more than 200 of the members will be enjoying new events.

“The Club is introducing new events to broaden the appeal to new and experienced members such as Try a Tri, Triple Sprint Race, Duathlon Race, Aqua Bike Races, Women’s Only Race, Untimed/self-nomination event with prizes for closest to nominated time and a Sponsors race.

“The Club also holds regular training sessions to practise swimming on Fridays and Saturdays, riding on Saturdays and Sundays and running throughout the week leaving from the Hub Café at Jetty Beach at around 6:30 am.
