Coffs Harbour Snappers Women overcome SCU Marlins to earn grand final berth

Snappers are minor premiers for two years in a row.

THE Coffs Harbour Snappers women overcame the SCU Marlins 19-10 to progress to the grand final of the Mid North Coast Rugby Competition last Saturday at Bay Range Rugby Park.

Two tries from Brooklyn French, one try from Greta Smith and two conversions from Tay Stevens secured a grand finals berth in a tough match against the resilient Marlins.

It’s been another stellar season for the Snappers going two years undefeated, winning two minor premierships.

Team captain Greta Smith said the team had to fight for the right to be in the grand final.

“It was a really hard game and we had to fight hard to get over the line to win the game and get through to the grand final.

“We came out hard in the first half then fought really hard to hold onto it until the final buzzer.

“We worked for each other and it showed, being minor premiers two years in a row is an awesome title to hold and we’ve done it undefeated,” said Greta.
