As we near the end of the summer school holiday season, there’s still plenty to do in the Myall.
The Galleries in the Gardens art exhibition is now in its eighth season in the grounds of the Tea Gardens Hotel on Marine Parade.

Events Co-Ordinator Di Ayers told News Of The Area, “This is my first year on the Committee, but I’ve been a weekend visitor to Hawks Nest for 20 years and we’ve been coming for 40 years and now we live here permanently.”
“To be a member of Galleries in the Gardens you must live here or own a house here and spend the majority of your time painting and in this environment.”
The event showcases the works of some 36 artists, who reach for their brushes, clay, cameras or other mediums to contribute to the event.
“Beautiful paintings, local artists, too many choices,” said weekend visitor to Tea Gardens, Liz Cullen.
There’s still time to catch the Cool Summer Art Exhibit this Saturday 28 January and then every second Saturday.
Keep a look out throughout the two villages, as the Galleries in the Gardens artists are also displaying their works at various businesses around the Tea Gardens and Hawks Nest towns.
There’s also art work scattered along the Marine Drive making a river walk a stroll of discovery.
And don’t forget those infamous Bat Flats, fantastic whimsical creations which are home to the micro bats.
The seven works which took out the “Art Under the Eaves competition” are also scattered across the twin towns.
