Greg states he was overwhelmed by the media vision of the devastation of the small Pacific Island group from Cyclone Pam and felt he just had to help.

Red tape nearly got the better of him but persistence paid off with official recognition from Unicef and consent from both Great Lakes Council and National Parks to go ahead.

Big thanks from Greg go to these organisations for their quick and positive responses.

Local businesses should be prepared for the man in the Hawaiian shirt to come looking for support in the lead up to the ‘Vanuatu Relief Fundraising Walk for UNICEF’.

All are welcome to join in the walk which will start at the Tea Gardens Hawks Nest Surf Life Saving Club at 12 pm on Saturday 18 April and involves a return trip to the top of  Yacaaba Headland.

Greg can be contacted via Facebook with much information regarding the walk already posted, just search Greg Brown and look for the guy in a Hawaiian shirt .

A painted surfboard will be raffled on the day and all donations over $2 are tax deductible.

Good luck Greg and we hope with the help of our local community that you raise a bundle for the people of Vanuatu.
