Tea Gardens Hawks half back, Jeff Wortley has won the Newcastle and Hunter Rugby Leagues “Player of the Year” award for 2014.Jeff Wortley

The award is won by referees voting in all games throughout the season.

This award is indicative of Wortley’s contribution to the Hawks charge to the grand final.

Recognition also eases some of the disappointment of the loss to Cessnock.

The Cessnock “Cutters”, sprinkled with players with 2014 grade experience, were simply to strong on the day.

The Hawks will regroup to challenge in the 2015 competition.

The Myall River Juniors will hold their presentation day on October 11th with proceedings scheduled to get underway at 10am at Myall Park.

The day is set to be full of fun, featuring jumping castle, rides, and obstacle course.

The player presentation will start with a BBQ at 3:30pm at the Tea Gardens Country Club, followed by jumper and trophy award presentations.
