
MEDOWIE and Tanilba Bay have benefited significantly from this year’s Community Building Partnership grant program, with $57,805 awarded by Kate Washington to three local projects.

Among the successful grant recipients are projects for two local schools and a sports club.
Medowie Public School P&C Association will receive $8,286 to upgrade much needed sporting facilities and equipment at the school.
Tanilba Bay Public School P&C Association will receive $18,569 to build a community and learning area.
Medowie Tennis Club will receive $30,950 to refurbish and repaint the courts and clubhouse; providing a much needed facelift for the hard working community club.
Kate Washington MP told News Of The Area, “I’m proud to be able to support these incredible local community groups with this grassroots funding, which will deliver new community infrastructure in Medowie and Tanilba Bay and help pay for much-needed improvements to our local schools and sports clubs.”

a positive difference to our local area.”
“Since I was elected, I’ve been pleased to provide more than $90,000 to local community groups in Medowie and
the Tilligerry Peninsula, and approximately $900,000 across Port Stephens to improve local infrastructure,” she said.
“There was a large amount of competition this year between lots of really worthwhile projects, and I look forward to
receiving even more applications next year,” she added.
An additional $242,195 was also awarded to thirteen other projects across Port Stephens, with a total of $300,000
awarded to sixteen projects within the electorate.
