THE Myall Lakes Aquatic Club (MLAC) held its mid winter outing on 16-17 July at Legges.

Most members travelled up on Friday as we planned to have a lunch time meal at Leggey’s Restaurant.

35 members and guests enjoyed this meal in pleasant weather overlooking the lake.

After lunch our local historian Jan Winn gave an informative talk on the history of the Myall River and Lakes.

It was interesting to note that many of our members/guests at the talk are descendants of local pioneer families namely – Legge, Motum, Palmer, Ripley.

On Sunday, 6 boats and 15 people motored up to Violet Hill for an inspection of the wharves and a lunch time sausage sizzle.  Some stayed on while others had to go home.

Our next outing will be the AGM on Saturday 24 September to be held as usual at Nerong Hall.

This is a catered event so we need numbers. For information please ring secretary Linda on 49971597
