THE Tea Gardens Lions Club celebrated the 100th Anniversary of the founding of Lions International at their recent changeover. In the last 12 months Lions have donated in excess of $20m to its eye health, measles and rubella vaccinations and disaster relief programs across the world. Incoming President, Doug Allen congratulated the past and present members of the Club on their achievements during the 48 years since the Tea Gardens Club was chartered. President Doug undertook to continue the work of Lions International programs in eye health and measles immunisation while at the same time ensuring that the Club was in a position to be able to identify and assist with local worthy causes. The main focus of the Club in the next twelve months will be on adding a social aspect to the programme to ensure that members have the opportunity to enjoy themselves while at the same time making the Club one that new members will enjoy.
