With the popular artisan and creative industries Sacred Tree Markets planned for the Nelson Bay Foreshore and d’Albora Marinas precinct over the June Long Weekend, supplemented by the regular Tomaree Sports Complex Market and Medowie Market, bargain hunters will be spoilt for choice.

Enjoy the environment as you browse among beautiful handmade and scented candles, bags and bold pieces of costume jewellery.

Danny Eather of Destination Port Stephens told News Of The Area, “The benefits that events, such as markets, bring to our region are two-fold with many of the regular markets having a strong and loyal following of people, so this bring increased visitation.”

“But importantly we see these type of events allow us to expose them to the great offerings that our area has from retail store, great cafes/restaurants, local attractions as well as the scenic locations that we tend to take for granted in being as locals,” he said.

“The aim is to get those same visitors coming back over and over again.”

For locals the markets offer a great chance to catch up as well as enjoy local offerings.

Handmade and artisan pieces along with produce are offered at the host of markets held monthly and on special occasions in the region.

From fairy floss and handmade jewellery to preserves and heirloom seeds, you will find it all at your local markets.
