Police urge Myall Coast residents to watch out for scams

Local Police are warning community members to beware of scam-artists trying to take advantage of Christmas generosity.

“They sometimes pose as couriers delivering gifts or soliciting donations door-to-door for charitable causes although no charity is involved,” they say.

Police advise residents to always ask for identification, say no to the scam-artist’s requests and phone police.

Internet scams are also common at this time of the year and can be reported to the Australian Cybercrime Online Reporting Network at www.acorn.gov.au
