Most were dressed in Christmas finery for the occasion, enjoying fun and fellowship while patiently waiting for Santa to put in an appearance.

Although Santa is a busy man at this time of year, he still made time for his favourite Probus club and came striding up the hill to much applause.

Santa’s elves, Robyn and Margaret, had prepared the gifts for everyone who was gathered in anticipation.

“President Ron and the elves called each person up for their present,” Publicity Officer Ann Gibson told Bay News Of The Area.

“Santa was all kissed and hugged out by the end of the evening and had to be helped back to his sleigh,” Ms Gibson said.
“What a trooper Santa is, Mrs. Claus is a lucky woman.”

This club has lots of fun activities and will be holding their popular and more grownup Christmas Luncheon at Soldiers Point Bowling Club shortly.

The next meeting is 9.30am on Thursday, December 8 at Nelson Bay Bowling Club and interested people are very welcome to come along.

Visit the website at www.probusclubofportstephens.org for more information on their activities and contact details.
