The sound of sleigh bells and reindeer hooves will soon be heard across the Australian summer sky.

This Sunday, 10 November Santa is doing a trial run and a spot of shopping to line those Santa sacks and will appear at the annual Raymond Terrace Christmas Spectacular and Show n Shine.

This family friendly event is free.

Starting from 10.00am Santa will arrive on a fire truck at 10.30am followed by a parade of his friends.

Inside MarketPlace there will be free face painting, Sandwizard, balloon twisting, and giveaways.

Coming along for some fun will be Angry Bird’s Red, Chuck and Bomb, Hatchimals Draggle, Nickelodeon’s Dora the Explorer, The Wiggles, Dorothy the Dinosaur, and Wags the Dog.

Also attending is MarkeeP, Nutcracker, Frosty the Snowman, Christmas Bunny and groove away with the Dancing Santa’s.

On the sports ground there will be free fair rides, pony rides, and a petting farm.

For kids of all ages there will be a car show with hot rods, classic cars, vintage cars, muscle cars and more with $2 000 worth of prizes to be won.

See live performances from Jumpin’ Jukebox, local schools and dance groups as well as the Salvation Army Hope Community Choir.

This event is hosted by Raymond Terrace MarketPlace and is an annual community event.

All funds raised will go directly to the Lions and Rotary Clubs of Raymond Terrace.

Make sure you visit the local community groups and emergency services stalls to learn more about the great work they do and maybe even take a seat in the fire truck or police car.
