The Mid North Coast’s grooviest festival, Woodstock In The Valley is back

The Loose Cannons are set to make a return to Woodstock in the Valley on Saturday 13 May 2023.

THREE years ago the 50th Anniversary of the Woodstock Music & Art Fair was celebrated in the Nambucca Valley by recreating the vibe with a spectacular outdoor music event at the Macksville Showgrounds called Woodstock in the Valley.

What was initially intended to be an annual event fell victim to the pandemic and it was feared that Woodstock in the Valley would become a memory.

Enter stage left a couple of forces of nature, local ladies Dianne Potter and Vicki Starr, and through their efforts, Woodstock in the Valley is back.

Making a return to the Macksville Showgrounds on Saturday 13 May 2023, from 12 noon until midnight, this year’s Woodstock in the Valley promises to be bigger and better than the original, with a lineup of talented music acts, market stalls, food stalls, craft workshops, and much more.

Woodstock in the Valley is a tribute to a significant event that shaped our music and culture forever.

The musical lineup includes the Steve Edmonds Band performing his Jimi Hendrix Show, as well as Loose Cannons, Creedence and Friends, Not Real Young, Leroy and the Rats, Raven, Casey Alexander, Lighthouse Duo, Critical Mass, Georgia Cortez Rayner, Lucy’s Sky, and Pash.

Woodstock in the Valley is a community focused, not-for-profit event designed to develop and nurture the local entertainment industry and promote Nambucca Valley tourism and retail.

The event is supported by the Australian and NSW Governments and is a Bushfire Community Recovery and Resilience Fund project through the joint Commonwealth/State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements.

Nambucca Valley Council, Healthy North Coast and the Nambucca Valley Rotary Club are also behind this special event.

Tickets can be purchased by visiting www.woodstockinthevalley.com and are only $10.00 each with children under sixteen attending for free.

For those who want to make a weekend of it, on-site camping can be booked by also going to www.woodstockinthevalley.com.

Camping will allow attendees to fully immerse themselves in the festival atmosphere and make the most of the full day of music and activities on offer.

There will be a bar on site and `syp7 advise that BYO alcohol is not permitted.

Co-organiser Dianne Potter told News Of The Area, “There will be prizes for the grooviest outfits so get your hippy gear on and come along to this celebration of music, culture, and community, and a happening that promises to be a fantastic day out for people of all ages.”
