It is not surprising that Breast cancer support services and research has gained the support of communities.

Recently a local Bay restaurant did their bit to support the women locally who run the Tomaree Breast Cancer Support Group.

The Tomaree Breast Cancer Support Group assists people who have breast cancer by providing free of charge driving to and from cancer related medical appointments in Newcastle and Maitland; deliver telephone and face-to-face support;
monthly meetings for networking with others experiencing similar treatments, as well as helping out in other ways on a case by case.

For those in need this service delivers practical help, and for those on treatment support of this nature cannot be underestimated for patients and their families.

Sri Malaysia once again held a fundraiser recently for Tomaree Breast Cancer Support Group generously donating all proceeds from sales of tickets and take-always on the night as well as providing all of the food for the banquet.

Christine Walton of the Tomaree Breast Cancer Support Group told News Of The Area, “Jade along with her husband, Peng and son, Jordan, worked so hard preparing the food, serving it to a full-house then donating all to the local charity.

“The banquet was superb and of the highest standard which is the norm for Sri Malaysia,” she said.

The next fundraiser for the group is the In The Pink Breakfast at Nelson Bay Bowling Club.
