Now in its 11th year, the trivia buffs enjoyed a new experience with the event held at the Catholic Parish Centre instead of the usual Tea Gardens Country Club restaurant.

“Unfortunately, as the new restaurant lessees have changed their seating arrangements, it was not possible to organise enough seating for a trivia night in the format they use,” Organiser Ian Mackenzie-Smith said.

“The different arrangements were a huge success with the teams invited to bring their own nibbles and drinks.”

“The hall is ideal for the number of people and with its air conditioning and audio/visual system in play, it is perfect for running the trivia quiz,” Ian said.

There were 12 teams of eight competing for 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes worth over $300 and consisting of a generous selection of wines.

Ian said, “After a close-fought tussle, the team from the Men’s Probus Club took out the honours and earned the right to keep the perpetual trophy for the next 12 months.’’

“Close behind on points, in second place was the ‘Triviaholics’ who have been very successful in past years while in third place was the team from the Lioness Club.”

The fun evening, run as a non-profit event, is organised by Rotary to say thank you to the Community for their support during the year.

“The Rotary Club would like to thank everyone for supporting the challenge each year,” Ian said.

“There was a good roll-up of Club members and spouses as markers and runners.”

“Thanks to all the helpers for being there and for helping make the night a tremendous event.”
