TWENTY-EIGHT decked-out colourful vehicles carrying 65 drivers and passengers motored into Bulahdelah over the weekend all in the name of charity.

The Variety Mini Bash left Newcastle and travelled through the Barrington Tops before stopping in Bulahdelah overnight, and raised more than $8,000 along the way.

Regional Manager Victor Shiel, said the Bash isn’t a race, it’s just all about having fun.

“We have people dress up and decorate cars because we want to show the public what we do, and this is always a good way of raising funds for people in need,” Mr Shiel said.

“We also have a bit of fun exploring regional Australia while we’re at it, it’s really good to be able to help people in such a unique way.”

All the cars involved in the Bash are older models and some are fitted out with air horns for attracting even greater attention.

Mr Shiel thanks the Bulahdelah Bowling Club for hosting the Variety Bash participants during their stay.

Variety -the Children’s Charity supports Australian children who are sick, disadvantaged or who have special needs.
