WATT’S In Vogue closed its doors last week after serving the Bulahdelah community for almost a decade.

The final day of trading was celebrated with wine and nibbles which were shared with staff, community members and visitors to the store.

Owner Kim Dorney said she made the decision to close up shop to pursue other interests.

“It’s not a matter of having had enough, it’s just that I wanted a change, my kids have all grown up and left home and my husband wants to travel,” Mrs Dorney said.

“We’ve also wanted to go to horse shows on Saturdays, but that hasn’t been possible as the shop has taken priority.”

Mrs Dorney’s business has been a large part of the community and she said there are many things about the shop that she will miss.

“I will definitely miss the friendships that I’ve made and just being here and servicing the community,” she said.

“I’ll also miss the Melbourne Cup Fashion Parades and all the fundraising that we have done.”

Some of the many fundraising events that Watt’s In Vogue has been involved in include the Girl’s Night In which raised more than $7,000 and fundraisers for the Preschool and Mark Hughes.

Although the business is closing, Mrs Dorney told News Of The Area she won’t be going anywhere soon.

“In my spare time, instead of the shop, there are some renovations and gardening I need to do around my home,”Mrs Dorney said.

“I would like to thank all my valued customers who have come into the shop over the years, and for all the warm comments that they have given us.”
