AFTER their Covid interlude the Woolgoolga Fun Runs were back on Easter Saturday and Sunday at Woolgoolga for the 39th time.

While floods had caused the moving of the Forest Footrace to drier country the Seaside Scamper, Beach Bash and Tiny Tot Trot went ahead on and around the foreshore.

It was the familiar faces to the fore in the Forest Footrace with Isaiah Koopmans and Clare Palmer claiming their third victory each in the event.

Both had arrived at the start in a less than average manner with Koopmans cycling to the start from Woolgoolga and Palmer running in from Glenreagh.

Both did get lifts home.

The numbers for the Sunday runs grew like Topsy with the start delayed while entries flowed in.

Ben Burridge and Georgia Kuchel added their names to the winners lists for the 5 kms Seaside Scamper while Tom Putter and Amber Hundle finished first in the Beach Bash.

With over 150 runners participating across the four races the organisers from Woolgoolga Athletic Club look forward to the 40th year in 2022 with increased optimism.
