THE Coffs Harbour Triathlon Club are holding their second event of the season, the ‘Try a Tri’, on Sunday 7 November 2021 at Jetty Beach.

The event gives athletes the opportunity to participate in one of two formats.

The shorter enticer format is a 350m swim, 10km bike ride and 2.5km run whilst the longer sprint distance format is a 750m swim, 20km bike ride and 5km run.

Each event is run with volunteers providing safety and direction for the athletes, particularly during the swim and bike legs.

Race Director Mark Garner said they will also be offering a buddy system to help those people move through the course with confidence and to assist with any tips and tricks on the day.

“The event has been set up to give those people wanting to give triathlon a go for the first time or those people who are returning to the sport or are new to the area an opportunity to blow out the cobwebs.

“For those that are interested in participating and want more information about the event, the Tri Club has organised an information session on Saturday 6 November between 3 and 5pm, downstairs at the Yacht Club.

“Existing members will be on hand on Saturday to assist with any queries that people may have and to run through the course details prior to hitting the sand on Sunday morning.

“People can also follow the club on Facebook, subscribe to our newsletter or head to our website (www.coffstri.com) to find out more, become a member and keep up to date with what’s going on throughout the season,” said Mark.
