Ms Ashleigh Foyster from Dog Rescue Newcastle told News Of The Area, “Dog Rescue Newcastle is a group of volunteers dedicated to the rescue of abandoned, neglected or abused companion animals.”

“We rescue dogs and cats from death row at local pounds and put them into loving foster homes until we can find permanent homes for them.”

Introducing this week’s rescue pet, Oliver us a six month old Mastiff x male puppy.

Ollie is a sweet natured dog who has survived the odds of contracting the Parvovirus after being abandoned unvaccinated at the pound.

Oliver is one of four mastiff x pups looking for their forever homes, with others Bruno, Chelsea, and Brax also looking for an adopted family.

The litter of pups were surrendered along with their mother to a local pound.

Unfortunately, as happens with many unvaccinated dogs, they contracted the deadly parvovirus and required thousands of dollars’ worth of life saving treatment.

Through tireless efforts, the pups are now happy, healthy and have all had their first vaccines and been medically cleared for adoption.

Ollie has been in foster care with another dog, a cat, and small children who he loves to play with.

Ollie has started his basic training but will need his new family to continue training him.

Oliver seeks out pats and cuddles and is eager to please.

Oliver wants a family of his own to walk, play, and love him.

For more information or to meet Oliver, please contact his foster carer Shannon by emailing shanchan2000@yahoo.com.au with a completed adoption questionnaire from this link: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf.

Oliver is located in Morisset.

Oliver’s adoption fee is $500, which includes desexing, vaccinations and microchipping, flea and worm treatment.

All available dogs can be viewed at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au.
