5 April

A maximum field of 7 rinks contested Wednesday Triples today over 14 ends.

The winners on a commendable score of +31 and conceding only 3 ends, were Lance Atkins, Bruce Everitt and Pip Sullivan.

Taking second prize money was the team of John Slater, George Winter and Neville Vaughn.

7 April

Players on Pennant duty and those contesting the Club Championship Pairs depleted the field for the Fabulous Friday Jackpot Pairs however, 12 hardy souls competed among themselves for no prize money.

Hopefully there will be a few more players next week.

There was one game of Club Championship Pairs played today with the team of Scott Beaumont and Greg Pearson winning the last end to defeat the gallant Steve Jones and Paul Syron by three shots. The game was locked on 20-20 with one end to play.

8 April 

Saturday pennants dominated proceedings today with the Mighty Dolphins Grade 5 and Grade 6 sides playing at home against Lemon Tree Passage and Hamilton North respectively.

With the home ground advantage both Grade 5 and Grade 6 won their matches.

In Grade 5 it was a close call with two teams losing but riding home on the coattails of a very dominant performance from the Keith Smith Four who won 30-14.

The Merv Mills team lost 15-22, whilst the Bill Thrift team lost 13-19.

The final score Tea Gardens 58, Lemon Tree Passage 55.

The Grade 6 win was more conclusive with a great performance from the Ron Webster four who dominated their match 35-9.

Doug Naylor’s team managed a close win 22-18 and the Danny Johnson team were way off song to go down 14-28.

The final score, Tea Gardens 71, Hamilton North 55.

The Mighty Dolphins Grade 3 side had their first loss of the season taking a pasting on the dead slow, (10 sec.), grass at Cardiff.

Both the Jeff Baker and Richard Lee teams went down 11-21, whilst the Sean Mearrick team lost 18-24.

Cardiff won 66-40.

9 April

Sunday Bowls attracted 17 players today on a beautiful morning for bowls.
Winners were Nigel Smith, (Visitor), Frank Zumbo and David Williams.

There will be no Sunday Bowls next week as it is Easter Sunday but will resume on 23/4/17. All bowlers are welcome to share this day.

The organisers are hoping everyone will come along and support Sunday bowls and a barbecue lunch.

In the remaining semi-final match in the Club Championship Pairs played today Mark Hair, substitute for Steve Pell and Jeff Baker held off a valiant Ross Barry and Merv Mills to win 23-24.

The final will be held sometime after Easter and should be a real showpiece.
