The Club was established in 2008 and members enjoy fortnightly meetings where they participate in workshops, theme nights, and organise group photography outings.

In the pipeline are events including sunset at Birubi, The Habitat at Lemon Tree Passage, guest speakers and a black and white workshop to name a few.

“There is no minimum equipment requirement to attend the outings or the Club; members use their mobile phone, point and shoot and others their DSLR,” President of the Club Rudy Fuentez told News Of The Area.

“It’s about passion for the craft, rather than the equipment used.

We are a non-judgemental group with various levels of expertise, some members run workshops and guide those less experienced to improve their photography skills whilst others lend their hand to running the projector.”

The scope of experience is from beginner through to professional, age range is from young to those enjoying retirement.

The Club meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month from 7pm at Soldiers Point Bowling Club.

The second Tuesday of the month is dedicated to workshops, lectures and general information nights.

Each month a different theme is chosen and members are encouraged to submit their interpretation for viewing, members then run a ‘popular vote’ to determine their favourite.

Vikki, a member for five years, said, “We are a group of people who love taking photographs and spending time with like-minded people. New members are always welcome.”
