
This week News Of The Area introduces the new Captains of St Philip’s Christian College and asked what the role means to them.

Samuel Turner, School Captain. Previously Junior, middle and now senior Captain told News Of The Area, “We talk with the staff and they listen to our ideas, the Heads of Departments and Principal listen to what we want, it is very much student run.”
Elise Dodds, School Captain said, “I was previously the Junior School Captain and my brother was too, my younger sister is currently the Junior School Captain.”
“It’s a privilege to represent the school in the best way possible and to be able to support others to create a more positive school.”
Jack Torr, Vice-Captain, Previously House Captain, said, “To connect with younger students and bring a more positive vibe to school through presenting ideas during assembly and other opportunities.”
Sophie Burnett, Vice-Captain said, “I’ve been at this school since kindy and being Vice-captain is something I have aspired to. I am looking forward to being the link within the school and to create an inclusive atmosphere.
As a group their focus is on inclusivity and mental health awareness and by joining Years 9, 10, 11 and 12 in mixed groups
they will create a supportive environment to discuss topics of concern and to ensure everyone is included and welcome.
