Brian ingram of Salamander Bay didn’t believe it at first when he received a call from McCauley’s Bottle shop, Salamander Bay, telling him he had won a ‘tinnie’ and trailer.

“I’m over the moon, stoked, this is great for the kids to grow up with and then heading into teenage years they’ll be able to take it out themselves,” Brian told News Of The Area.

“Thank you for the opportunity to win, and, of course, I will continue to support McCauley’s Bottle Shop.”

Jai Pyke, Licensee, approached a passer-by to pull out the winning ticket. Graham Fryer of Salamander Bay was more than happy to dig deep into the huge barrel of tickets.

Jai said, “It took four hours, with three staff, to scrunch all of the tickets, and I am extremely proud with the staff and their efforts to bring this together.”

“I would also like to thank Joe and Jonine McCauley for running the sausage sizzle today, they have done an exceptional job.

“The turnout and support this morning is amazing, and it’s good to see people enjoying the free sausage sizzle.”

Owner John McCauley said, “The reason for this event is to thank the locals for their year-round support; of course, we appreciate the support during the tourist season, however, it is the locals who continue to support us throughout the year.”

“I am very pleased with the staff who work well as a team and it has been a great effort from them to pull this off, we are hoping for this to be an annual event.”

The McCauley Bottle Shop was first established in 1977 and has won various awards, their motto, ‘Keep it local, keep it real’ has been their strategy from the outset.
