A science teacher of 34 years, Suellen decided to change track following a redundancy last year.

After taking a new qualification in Preschool Education, she noticed how much the children enjoyed the experiments she was performing in a few local childcare centres.

A lightbulb moment followed and Science Club was born!

Topics covered recently include: chemical reactions, forensics, consumer science and electronics.

Children have also taken part in an astronomy night as well as working with drones and Edison robots.

It is an exciting new invention that is Lego compatible and can be programmed.

Wednesday night science club is for upper primary students whereas Saturday morning is for 4-8 year olds.
The younger children have also been doing experiments, as well as insect studies.

Taine, age 10, who attends Science club with his brother, Beau, 12, told News Of The Area, “We love Science club. We do cool things and learn stuff too.”

  1. What a wonderful opportunity for all the local children in a country regional area – who don’t have access to Science Labs at school until High School. Science is for everyone ! Very unique ! How lucky are they to have a qualified Tutor of 34 years interested in children and sharing her Science knowledge in a ‘ fun ‘ and interesting way with very bright switched on young minds who are indeed…the future! Well done!
