Tea Gardens Hawks Nest Lioness Club Changeover Dinner

Tea Gardens Hawks Nest Lioness Club held their Changeover Dinner on Monday, 15 June in the Dolphin Room at Tea Gardens Hotel Motel with thirty six Lionesses and guests in attendance.

Joan Parks, Zone Chairperson, inducted new member Tay King, Proprietor of Alana’s Gifts in Hawks Nest and also inducted the new Committee for 2015/2016.

Enthusiastic members to represent the Club are President – Vivienne Boyd, Past President – Lorna Russom, Vice-President – Sharon de Pagter, Secretary – Deborah Bastian, Minute Secretary – Shirlee Richardson and Treasurer – Ann Hill, Directors – Wilma Drake and Mavis Mowbray.

President, Vivienne Boyd told Myall Coast News, “We already have a full fundraising programme in place for the remainder of the year including Christmas in July, a Fashion Parade hosted by BTs For Fashion and Mungo Road Surf Shop, Melbourne Cup Party and Christmas Party.”

“Of course, the Lioness Club always participates in Australia Day festivities and will be supporting the two festivals.”

When asked how it felt about taking on the role as President, Vivienne told Myall Coast News, “I have been in the Lioness Club for twelve years and thought it was time to step up and take on the role.  I feel honoured and privileged that the other Lioness members  had the confidence that I will do the job well and I am looking forward to working with my hardworking and devoted team.”

“There is an old wise saying, ‘A club is only as good as its leader and a leader is only as good as its team’.”
