‘Shoshin’ refers to the beginner’s mind, a state of openness, eagerness and lack of preconceptions.

Three of Australia’s finest musicians have joined together with this in mind to present an evening of romantic music of sumptuous melodies to take the audience on a journey of senses.

Ms Davis and Ms Neville are best friends from the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, and have collaborated with former school friend and international pianist, Bernadette Harvey.

Daniel Rojas and the Ensemble Apex Strings will present the classically-flavoured music of Latin American composers including Rogas, Rodriguez and Piazzolla, in conjunction with Musica Viva, on November 4.

These performers will be holding master classes in which local music students will have the opportunity to learn about Latin American Music performing awareness and arranging.

The final concert with be on December 2 with Bernadette Harvey returning as a piano soloist

The President of the Coffs Music Society, Liz Jamison, said, “Every concert continues to bring the joy and spiritual uplifting of music for everyone who attends.

“For our next concert, the outstanding musicians of Trio Shoshin, who have recently moved to this area, will be performing their compelling programme of romantic works.”

All concerts will be in Lecture Theatre D, Coffs Harbour Education Campus.
