TEATIME can be a great time for a good old fashioned gossip and that’s exactly what some of the ladies from the Fingal Bay Probus Club get up to when they have an afternoon tea gathering.

Julia Redlich of the Fingal Bay Probus Club told News Of The Area, “These gatherings are held in a member’s home and it is one of the nicest ways for new members, and visitors to make friends in a slightly quieter ambience than the cheerful crowded general meetings.”

She believes that sitting comfortably with a cuppa and delicious nibbles in front of the people, it doesn’t take long for an exchange of views, family news and quite often this is when “six degrees of separation” are discovered.

“No wonder fellowship, fun and friendship flourish!,” she said.

A new member, Dulcie Ridley, was a recent hostess, and these gathering are held regularly for members to attend.

The Probus Club of Fingal Bay meets on the second Monday of every month at 9.30am at The Fingal Bay Sports and Recreation Club, 100 Rocky Point Road, Fingal Bay. Future members and guests are welcome to a club that thrives on friendship and fun, offering a selection of activities and a variety of guest speakers.

There are six Probus Clubs on the Tomaree Peninsula and all of them offer a range of activities for those who are retired or semi retired.

Activities range from social to sporting and even travel.
