BUDDING footballers from the Seaham area got the experience of a lifetime at the Matildas’ recent friendly game against China in Sydney.

25 Miniroos players (ages five to eleven) from Seaham Bowthorne Football Club were lucky enough to be invited to Accor Stadium to participate in the ‘little legends lap’.

The experience included walking a lap around the stadium, watching the Matildas and China warm up from the sideline and then staying to enjoy the game.

Seaham Bowthorne Football Club committee member Emily Pascoe told News Of The Area, “We were one of only four clubs invited to participate from the Northern NSW Football Federation.”

The Matildas secured a 2-0 win over the People’s Republic of China in the international friendly match.

The match was the final preparatory match for the Matildas before their upcoming Paris 2024 Olympics campaign.
