The event formally known as the Spring Cup, has proven its place on the golfing calendar for all golfers alike.

The 3 day tournament was designed to encourage golfers living outside the Port Stephens area to enjoy all that the region has to offer, showcasing the wonderful golf courses we are privileged to have on our doorstep.

Attracting 89 players this year, visitors outside the Port Stephens region came from not only NSW, but as far as Victoria and Queensland, with over 40 difference clubs represented.

“It was great to see such an amazing response to this event, staff at all the facilities were excited to welcome our visitors to what would be a thrilling week of golf. Port Stephens is a true golfing destination that I encourage everyone to visit and play” said Kurt Linde, General Manager of Pacific Dunes.

For the non-playing partners who attended, there was plenty on offer to keep one busy with the Love Seafood event still in full swing.

Pacific Dunes Golf Club hosted the first round on Tuesday 13 August, followed by the 2nd round at Horizons on Wednesday 14 August.

Topped off with the final round and presentation lunch at Nelson Bay Golf Club on Thursday 15 August, where players and their non-golfing partners were lavished with a two course meal.

Daily winners of the Individual Stableford competitions were recognised and awarded their prizes following each event.

The final presentation on the Thursday awarded the 4-Ball Best Ball winners.

“Next year we look set to raise the bar to bring another exciting event. I’m sure all the players walked away with new friendships, the love of the game and ready to return in 2020,” said Mr Linde.
