GET on down this weekend to catch the Bellingen Shire Arts Week and all it has to offer.

Arts, music, performance and workshops are all on offer as Dorrigo, Bellingen and Urunga’s finest artists share what they do best.

There are three Arts Week Hubs: Urunga at Art Space Gallery, 13 Bonville Street, Bellingen’s Waterfall Way Visitor Centre on council grounds, Hyde Street and Dorrigo Community Hall on Hickory Street.

Usually at this time of year one of Bellingen’s main events, Camp Creative is held but due to COVID-19 has been postponed to 2022 so the Arts Week aims to fill the gap.

One of the main aims is to boost the shire’s creative industries, commerce and tourism.

Expect to find 2D and 3D artwork around the town’s galleries, shopfronts, libraries, information centres and cafes.

There will be workshops for adults and children, performances, open studios, street art, music, drama, poetry readings and concerts.

You will also be able to see some of Bellingen’s ceramic artists and their wares on display at the Carriageway Emporium.

Kylie Loebel, of Yellow Robin Studio, invites visitors to check out the beautiful ceramic surfaces.

She described them as “glorious greens, muted metallics, rich reds, crisp carved whites, beautiful blues, dramatic golden browns, magic mushrooms and nerikomi rainbows.”

She is joined by Caroline Harada, Joe De Graff, Sarah Guthridge and Mariana Vilchis.

All five artists graduated last year from TAFE NSW’s Diploma of Ceramics at Glenreagh Street Campus.

Mrs Loebel, Ms Harada and Ms Mariana Vilchis also recently exhibited at the Bendigo Bank as a pop up shop, another community initiative the graduates have participated in.

So art and music lovers don’t miss out this weekend and get your fill of culture in the Bellingen Shire.
