DURING a search of the local area earlier this week, dozens of foil wrapped chocolate eggs, allegedly left by the Easter Bunny, were discovered.
Witnesses have stated the fluffy bunny has long floppy ears, and is hopping around with huge baskets of eggs.
Evidence uncovered during the investigation confirms that the Easter Bunny is nearby and is preparing to deliver the chocolate treats to well-behaved boys and girls.
But with the Easter Bunny out and about, our local boys in blue urge anyone who is travelling, to slow down and be patient on the roads.
“Police understand that the Easter long weekend is a very popular time for a quick family vacation or camping get away, but we want to urge drivers to be realistic in their travel goals,” Senior Constable Feeney said.
“There will be a lot more vehicles on the roads which can cause delays, making it much more likely for accidents to occur.”
The local boys are appealing to all drivers to stick to the speed limit, stay alert by taking regular breaks and stay off mobile phones when driving.
Drivers are also reminded that double demerits will be in place from 13 – 17 April and will target speeding, illegal use of mobile phones, seatbelt and helmet related offences.
