IT is never convenient to go into hospital and it feels like you always leave something you need at home.

However, if you are unexpectedly admitted into the Mater or John Hunter Hospital in the near future you may get a pleasant surprise.

The local Tilligerry branch of the CWA have been putting together wonderful hospital packs to help make the disruption to life that little bit easier.

The CWA Branch creates hospital packs annually and this year have made 99 packs to help those admitted into hospital unexpectedly.

They have also crotched 12 beautiful rugs for the children’s ward.

As a parent myself that has had a child receive a rug on a day when everything was going wrong in hospital, I can say with certainty that these will be well appreciated and loved.

Marilyn Sanderson of the Tilligerry Branch of the CWA told News Of The Area, “Our small but active branch beavers away to support not only the ongoing projects targeted by the NSW Country Women’s Association, such as drought relief and international projects but we also support local services including the rural fire brigade, Marine Rescue, The Westpac Rescue Helicopter and Hunter Life Education.”

The ladies of the CWA will be holding their annual Christmas Stall outside Coles Tanilba Bay on 24 November 9-3pm.

Any women interesting in supporting the efforts to improve the health and educational prospects of women and children while enjoying friendship and interesting outings and activities, are welcome to join the CWA on the first Thursday of each month at Tanilba Bay Uniting Church at 9.30 am or call Rhonda on 4982 5587.
