THE Myall U3A Photography Group have selected their ‘Example of the Set Subject’ for February, a wildlife shot by group member Ann Woods.

Each month, the Group will select a photograph to highlight in the Myall Coast News Of The Area.

“The picture is of an osprey perching in one of the trees overlooking Jimmy’s Beach down near the Short Cut,” said Ann.

“It was taken in June last winter when the ospreys were frequent visitors there in the afternoons, especially on windy days, where they used the high trees to look for prey in the water.

“They are awesome, efficient hunters.

“I walk down there most afternoons and always take my camera.

“I’m not a natural walker and taking pictures of the bird life down there makes the walk bearable,” said Ann.

Philip Downing, Co-Convener of the Myall U3A Photography Group, was impressed with the quality of Ann’s submission.

“It was selected by the Photography Group Co-Convenors as the photo represents many of the aspirations of our Group.

“It is local, topical and represents a high quality photograph of wildlife in our area,” Philip said.
