The Nissan Datsun Driving Club were at Bulahdelah on Saturday 22 August with over 30 cars registering for the Myall River Rally 2015.

Adriana Pallister was in the office of the Bulahdelah Swimming Pool area from 9.00 am accepting registrations and then the cars went through a process of scrutineering.

The process of scrutineering involved checking that each rally car had all the safety requirements needed like a fire extinguisher, head helmets and neck braces were fitted and diff locks were applied.

The cars and their drivers and their teams filled the Bulahdelah Showgrounds as each driver and navigator checked their instruments and warmed up their cars.

The race started at 11.20 am and had to leave Bulahdelah and drive their rally cars up to Coolongolook and then onto Wang Wauk Forest Road and then navigate and drive through the State Forest on dirt roads.

A spectator’s point was organised where there was a great opportunity to see the rally cars drive past at fast speeds and kick up some dust.

Scott McCloy and his daughter Bre McCloy, from Nabiac, were driving and navigating in the Myall Lakes Rally and Scott has been driving for many years.

There is also another component of the race called the Myall Introductory Rally which is a special entry for young rally drivers who have not raced before.

This is a great opportunity to give young drivers some experience.
