These shoe boxes were filled with many beautiful and specific gifts donated from the church family and all boxes could only be closed by elastic bands.

All packed shoe boxes will join many thousands of others donated from Australia to children living in emergency accommodation due to civil war, cyclones or tidal waves within Australia, South Pacific and South East Asia.

Each box includes something to love, something to wear, something for school, something for hygiene and something to play with to hopefully bring some happiness to these children.

After the box project was complete, members of the SKILLS group watched DVD segments which provided an insight as to where the boxes were delivered last year and members were very moved by seeing children living in a Manila rubbish tip and the joy on their faces after receiving a parcel just for them from someone they would never get to know.

The Peter Sinclair Gardens ladies really enjoyed being able to play their part in enabling the donated goods to be sorted and packed for this worthy cause.

The next SKILLS morning will be held on Friday, 27 September 2019 at the Tea Gardens Baptist Church.
