That was the combination for the Wednesday Nominated Triples competition played today.

The winners of the second game on the grass were Keith Smith, Ron Rowe and Bill Jackson with a +13, and on the synthetic green, Lon Richards, Max Stephens and John Slater were successful with +6.

The lucky draw went to Gary Wynne, John Moore and Dave Benson and Leigh Hunt won the coveted Myall Bistro voucher.

Pennants

As it is the Easter long weekend, no Pennant bowls matches were played.

Next Saturday, 27 April, round 7 kicks off with the First National Grade 4 side playing Beresfield at Beresfield.

The Grade 6 Dolphins, play Karuah RSL at home and the Grade 7 side play East Maitland at East Maitland.

20 April

Three of the quarter-final matches have now been completed in the rain-interrupted Club Major Pairs Championship.

The John Parkinson v John Cary match was played over two days due to rain and poor light.

John Parkinson and Perter Gurney eventually winning 22-11.

The Ross Barry Danny Johnson combination led all the way in their game against Tony Coomer and Leigh Hunt, just managing to hold the lead at the end with a 23-20 win.

The Garry Wynne/Graham Kelly, Col Saillard/Dave Perry match had fantastic conditions and neither team disappointed with some great bowls played.

With 3 ends to play the teams were locked at 15-15 but Col and Dave consolidated the last three ends to win a great game 20-16.

One game remains unplayed to be in time for the semi-final round scheduled for Sunday 28 April.
The winner of that game plays defending champions, Parkinson and Gurney.

The other semi-final will feature Saillard and Perry against Barry and Johnson.

This will be a cracker of a game!

21 April

The social side of bowls was featured today with local bowlers hosting a team from the Duke of Wellington Hotel.

I am not aware as to how the “red shirts” fared with their games but I don’t think they cared just so long as they had a great day in good company.

Bowls was rounded off with a barbeque lunch and with the blue skies and superb facilities thrown in, a good time was had by all.
