BCS students tour local industry in Tomago

BCS teacher Brent Smith with students Makai Dvorik, Sebastian Sumner, Samuel Bidwell, Angus Shepherd, Zane Walker and Westrac employees.

LAST week a small group of Bulahdelah Central School (BCS) students in Year 10 and 11 attended a two day industry tour at Tomago.

Students visited Ampcontrol, Varley Group, Westrac and Koppers.

BCS Careers Advisor Linda Drenkhahn said the tour was very informative and gave the students valuable insight as to the variety of professions and trades available.

“Students also were informed by these companies, when they advertise for apprentices, how to apply, and what the employers are looking for when recruiting,” said Linda.
