Bulahdelah Lions Club received $10,900 for a ride on mower to assist with the maintenance of Lions Park and Bulahdelah Chamber of Commerce and Tourism was awarded $9,900 for the construction of picnic shelters in the Mountain Park.

The funding is from the NSW Government’s Community Partnership Building program which aims to create more vibrant and inclusive communities.

Myall Lakes MP Stephen Bromhead recently visited Bulahdelah to announce the successful projects and said the money will make a positive difference in the local area.

“These grants are important for smaller communities to help them get the amenities that larger areas enjoy,” Mr Bromhead said.

“We know that for every dollar that we give, communities get three or four times the benefit from it.”

Mr Bromhead said there was strong competition for the $300,000 up for grabs in this funding round, with the successful projects selected from 66 applications totalling more than $3 million.

“I love to see the smaller areas get their fair share,” he said.

“We’ve seen the wonderful benefits of this program in the Myall Lakes with a huge amount of varied projects funded over the years.”
