Can4Cancer is a CommBank Foundation community initiative with Tour de Cure that raises vital funds to support researchers working towards curing and preventing cancer.

In 2017, Can4Cancer raised over $1.6 million for research projects into breast, prostate and childhood cancer.

Adding their support to the cause, Hawks Nest First National is providing assistance in accommodating the team involved in this year’s Tour de Cure for their overnight stay in Hawks Nest on Sunday 28 October.

“We’ve had a great response from our holiday property owners,” John Rumble said.

“It’s been nothing short of amazing,” John added.

The holiday property owners have donated homes and units free of charge.

John said, “We are excited to assist these riders who are raising funds for a fantastic cause.”

‘Tour de cure’ also contribute $10,000 grants to cancer charities servicing local areas at each stop along their journey.

They’ll be making that donation at a presentation on Sunday 28 October at the Hawks Nest Golf Club.

From Hawks Nest the Can4Cancer riders will head to Wyong, before finishing their 3 day trek in the Sydney CBD.
