The primary funding allocation went to Irrawang High School towards a sensory garden for students in the Support Facility with $4500 of Mayoral Funds, $500 rapid response funds put forth by Cr Paul Le Mottee and $500 rapid response funds put forth by Cr Giacomo Arnott.

“Congratulations to Irrawang High School for receiving funding from three separate counsellors for one project and I hope that this enables them to deliver a really good project.

“Irrawang High School does incredible work in their support unit and I know that this is going to be really beneficial to not just the people in the Support Unit, but also to the wider school community and potentially even beyond that,” Cr Giacomo Arnott said.

Port Stephens Family and Neighbourhood Services received a $500 donation towards community COVID-19 support.

“This group has been doing a lot of work visiting people who are affected by COVID-19, particularly delivering COVID positive people hampers.

“They’ve been working to make sure vulnerable people are able to get vaccines, and that’s on top of their ordinary work supporting victims of domestic violence and people who are struggling with financial and social situations that are beyond their control.

“This extra funding ensures that this work can continue,” Cr Arnott said.

The additional funding went to Fern Bay Community Centre Committee in the form of a $500 donation towards Wi-Fi installation and operating costs for Fern Bay Community Hall while the Birubi Point Surf Life Saving Club Incorporated received a $3000 donation towards purchase of a trauma kit and inflatable rescue boat motor.
