Mac and Linda McIntosh last voyage on the Myall Tourer

The last cruise down the river for the Myall Tourer happened on 26 June. For the last 15 years Mac and Linda McIntosh have toured the river and the lakes and if the last cruise was anything to go by, they have left a lasting impression on all who sailed with them.

Linda and Mac McIntosh.
Linda and Mac McIntosh.

A small group of six were lucky enough to benefit from Mac and Linda’s generosity and cruise across the Broadwater from Bombah Point and down the Myall River to Tea Gardens.

It was a fittingly glorious day and all on board all enjoyed a most informative tour with a lovely morning tea and lunch.

The Myall River is simply magnificent and every turn had its own piece of history to tell.

The hosts have a wealth of knowledge to share.

Discussed was the history of the timber and prawning industries.

The Myall Tourer has now moved to the Hawkesbury River and will continue to operate from Akuna Bay.

That’s the sad news, but the good news is that Mac and Linda stay with us.

Their other vessel, The Independence, may not be quite suited to cruising in the same vein as the Myall Tourer but she too will provide a valuable service to support our tourist industry.

We’ll all miss the boat!
