SPORTZ Café has shown their true community spirit this week in a generous gesture to our Rural Fire Brigade.

The relatively new café, located in the twenty-four-hour gym complex on Ferodale Road, has made a wonderful first impression on locals, with their friendly personalities, excellent food and drink, and relaxed atmosphere.

Owners Carol and Chris Saunders read about the Fire Station Open day organised for last weekend, and decided they wanted to contribute.

They decided to donate $1 to the brigade from every cup of coffee sold on Saturday, and set about advertising on social media extensively to make sure everyone came down and supported the cause.

Staff members reported that the day was extremely busy, and they were touched to see locals donating more than their share to the Brigade.

Carol Saunders told News Of The Area, “Quite a few people threw in extra donations, and their spare change into the Fire Brigade collection jar, it was lovely to see the community spirit in fine form.”

Carol and Chris, and their friendly team of local staff members, raised a nice donation for the Brigade, and said the support by locals of their efforts has made them think they’ll do something like this again for another local cause.

Thank you Sportz Café, for reminding us that the Medowie Community Spirit in still going strong – We are glad you are here!
