Under lights, it was the Marauders first home game for the year against Beaches.

Medowie turned on a fantastic night of local Rugby, with a great family-friendly atmosphere and a large crowd turning out to support their boys.

The club is fast becoming known for their home game experience, with the whole club banding together to put on great host events.

The community of Medowie is getting behind their club in fantastic numbers, and the ‘fun for everyone’ approach the club has when planning their home games is ensuring everyone has a great time.

Medowie Rugby Club President Dwayne Murphy told News Of The Area, “We’re really proud of the club atmosphere, and we work hard to run a club that is family friendly and inclusive.”

The first home game for the year turned out to be the first competition win for year, with a fiercely contested match fought by Medowie against the Beaches.

Medowie got up in a tough game, with a final score of 7-5.

Mr Murphy said “This was a great effort as Beaches no doubt sent a team they thought would take the win.”

“It turned out to be a great night for footy, as usual a fantastic home crowd with a bit of extra support from our rugby friends from the Gropers Nelson Bay Rugby Club.”

“Many thanks to all our supporters, it looks like it is going to be a great year watching some excellent rugby,” he said.
