“All the volunteers were enthusiastic about the offering and many lined up for seconds,” Dan Holmes, President of the Association said.
“The group was entertained during the afternoon by the multi-talented Rae family, Meredyth, Angus and Richard, Roger Chivers and Margaret and the special guest ‘Hernando’ aka Alan Tarlinton, who danced into everyone’s heart with his glamorous partner.”
“The final sing-along was also a huge hit,” Dan said.
“A strong volunteer group travelled from Bulahdelah which included long service award winners Elaine Fittock, Tony and Trish Gregory, Diane Burns and Glen Martin.
“Tea Gardenians, Winsome Dorrington, Roger Chivers and Fay Hamilton were also honoured for their ongoing dedication, commitment and long service.”
Dan Holmes also stressed that the luncheon could not have been held with the support of local businesses including the Karuah Butchery, Kelly’s Bakery Hawks Nest, Tea Gardens Masonic Centre, Oakvale Wines and assorted gifts from Meals on Wheels supporters.
Dan said, “We would like to thank all these providers for their support and donations, which truly reflect the community spirit around the supply of Meals on Wheels.”
