Phil Downey and his wife Gwen were residents of the Medowie for decades, residing at 46 Ferodale Road.

They watched the town thrive and grow into the bustle community it is today.

In July 2017 Phil and his wife Gwen were in a terrible car accident.

Phil sustained injuries but fortunately survived.
Sadly Gwen passed away as the result of the accident.

Gwen was a beloved member of Coles Medowie and the entire local community.

After almost fifty years Phil Downey and with the support of beloved children and family, Phil had decided to move to a more peaceful location in Stroud.

Phil and Gwen’s 3.6 acre home will go up for auction on 15 December at 11am.

At the auction of this beautiful home there will be a celebrity touch to this day with Cooley Auctions top auctioneer Craig Rosevear leading the day.

Craig is also famous for being part of the Screaming Jets, Rosie’s School of Rock Newcastle, radio and television work with Location Lifestyle Living.

Craig told News of the Area, “I am thrilled to be the auctioneer for this historic sale.”

“This is a once in a generation opportunity and I’m looking forward to selling it under the hammer.”

The whole community is invited to be part of making Medowie history with a sausage sizzle and coffee available from 9.30am and auction at 11am.
