At about 8.35am on Wednesday 11 October, officers attached to the Port Stephens-Hunter Police District attended a property at Fingal Bay for the purpose of an Firearm Prohibition Order (FPO) search.

On arrival police spoke with a 36-year-old man, who was subject to an FPO, when police allegedly located prohibited drugs.

The search was suspended and officers applied for, and were granted a search warrant, during which police found small amounts of methylamphetamine, cocaine, GHB, cannabis, steroids, and about $45,000 cash.

The man was arrested following the search, while a woman – aged 37 – was also arrested for allegedly attempting to hinder police at the scene and conceal evidence.

The man was charged with drug offences, and the woman was charged with several drug and property offences.
