The celebration marked the completion of the mural project that was enabled by a Community Grant to the Arts Centre by Port Stephens Council.

The centre included as many willing artists as possible and were thrilled by the number of artists including three members from the mosaic group who enhanced the beautiful Gymea Lilies.

Meryl Miller of the Port Stephens Community Arts Centre told News Of The Area, “As we started painting the mural it took on a life of its own inspiring our artist’s creative juices.”

She believes that everyone thoroughly enjoyed being part the selfless, energetic team that took part in a marathon effort.

“Our monument of artistic design is the talk of the town something our community can all be proud of,” she said.

Nada O’Loughlin- Yonge, Judy Jones, Diana Atkinson, Meryl Miller, Marianne Newton were the core team that coordinated the mural.

Together with the Lions Club of Soldiers Points mural bus shelters, and the place making artworks at Anna Bay, the Bay is celebrating its colourful wildlife and lifestyle for all to see.
