MEDOWIE is being primed for further development by Port Stephens Council following their most recent Council meeting.

Three lots located off Brocklesby Rd, measuring a combined 5.1 hectares, will be rezoned from the current RU2 Rural Landscape to R2 Residential.

This decision will allow for significant development of this land, creating up to 60 new homes in Medowie.

The land is close to Wirreanda Public School and only one kilometre from the town centre, making it a perfect location for a willing developer.

In addition to this decision the council resolved in the same meeting to include the funding of a library lounge for Medowie in their next review of the Local Infrastructure Contribution Scheme.

This commitment means that when Council comes to consider how best to allocate funds to the development of the Medowie community, they will be seeking to ensure they can be directed to the construction of a local library.

Both motions were unanimously supported.
